Lander selected as the Third Seed in the NCAA Southeast Volleyball Regional

GREENWOOD - The NCAA announced the participating teams in the upcoming NCAA Volleyball Championship, and Lander was selected as the third seed in the Southeast Regional. Lander will take on Emmanuel at noon on December 1st on the campus of Wingate University. This is the first time in program history that the Bearcats have made the NCAA Championship in back-to-back seasons.  

The Bearcats and Lions will battle for the fourth time overall. Lander holds a 2-1 advantage and is looking to avenge a 3-2 loss to Emmanuel on October 24th. The winner of the match will take on the winner of #2 Augusta and #7 Tusculum in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, #1 Wingate will take on #8 Lenoir-Rhyne, and #4 Anderson will battle #5 USC Aiken. 

Lander enters the NCAA Championship with a program record of 27 wins, with seven coming against teams in the NCAA Championship this season. The Bearcats currently lead the Peach Belt in assists per set (12.20), hitting percentage (0.232), kills per set (13.55), assists (1,440), digs (2,081), team kills (1,599), service aces (221), and total attacks (4,490). They also rank seventh in Division II in kills, eighth in attacks, and ninth in digs.
