GREENWOOD - Lander came back to win the three-straight sets and take a 3-1 victory over the Braves Tuesday.

After dropping the first set to the Braves 25-22, the Bearcats came out on fire in the second set. Leading 5-4, Lander would outscore UNC Pembroke to take a 15-8 lead. A kill by Christina Aguayo would end the set at 25-18 and tie the match at one.

Trailing 6-2, Lander would get a kill from Olivia Dow for the Bearcats fifth-straight point to give them a 7-6 lead, which forced a UNC Pembroke timeout. Another kill by Dow and two attack errors by the Braves would make the score 10-6. UNC Pembroke would slowly chip away at the lead and eventually tie the score at 19. Blondie Penaflor's kill and Lauren Dow's block would give Landre a 21-19 lead. A service ace from Ellyn Adams would give Lander the 25-21 win and a 2-1 lead in the match.

Leading 12-11 in the fourth set, Olivia Dow would take a pass from her sister Lauren to record the kill and start a 7-3 run that forced a Braves timeout. The Bearcats finished the set outscoring UNC Pembroke 6-2 to take the 25-16 win to secure the victory.
