GREENWOOD - For the 16th-straight year, the Lander men's tennis team will be appearing in the NCAA Tournament. The Bearcats were named the fourth seed in the Southeast Regional; the NCAA announced Tuesday night.
The Southeast Region is divided into two four-team sub-regional, with two schools serving as host institutions. The Bearcats will be in the Columbus State half of the bracket, which includes the host and top-seeded Cougars, the fifth seed Queens University of Charlotte, and the eighth-seeded Belmont Abbey College.
Lander will face Queens on Monday, May 9th, at 1:00 PM, and the winner of that match will take on the winner of Columbus State and Belmont Abbey on Tuesday.
The Bearcats enter the Regional ranked #16 in the country by the ITA, and Queens is ranked #15. Lander looks to avenge a 4-3 loss to the Royals in February of 2020 in the only matchup of the two teams.
