GREENWOOD – The Lander men's lacrosse winds down the regular season as it hosts Shorter for Senior Day on Saturday.

STORYLINES
- Lander is coming off a 17-7 victory over Flagler last time out.
- Nolan Oakey and Adam Mather led the team in goals with three each. Oakey led the Bearcats in assists with three, points with six, and put all seven of his shots on net while collecting five ground balls.
- Oakey was also named the PBC Player of The Week for his performance against Flagler.
- Liam Mackay played the full 60 minutes where he made 16 saves en route to picking up the win.
- Lander led the Saints 10-7 after the first three periods, but a seven-goal fourth helped the Bearcats gain separation.
- Lander has won four straight, with all four wins having the Bearcats score 17 or more goals. Lander has also won five of its last six matches after losing three in a row from March 5 to March 12.
- The Bearcats are currently first in the PBC in total goals scored, average scoring margin, shot percentage, save percentage, ground balls, ground balls per game, caused turnovers, total clears, goals per game, total assists, points per game, total shots on goal, shots on goal per game, man-up scoring and goals-against average.
- Lander also has a couple of names leading multiple categories individually. Carter Wilcox leads the conference in goals scored with 41 and goals per game with 2.93.
- Mather is second in both those categories with 39 goals and 2.79 goals per game. Mather is currently the leader in total assists with 25 and assists per game with 1.79 and is the PBC leader in total points with 64 and points per game with 4.57.
- Mackay currently has the lowest GAA in the PBC with a 9.77 and the highest save percentage with a .581 so far this season.
- The Bearcats are also ranked in the national top-25 in multiple categories. Lander is ninth in total assists, 15th in assists per game, eighth in clearing percentage, second in total ground balls and ground balls per game, 11th in opponent clearing percentage, seventh in total points, ninth in points per game,24th in total saves, 22nd in scoring defense, 14th in scoring margin, sixth in scoring offense, ninth in shot percentage and 16th in winning percentage.
- Lander is outscoring its opponents 221-140 so far this season.
- Wilcox and Mather are the only two Bearcats to score 30 or more goals this season. Drew Wilson is closing in on that mark with 20 goals this season.
- Mather leads the team in assists and points with 25 assists and 64 points.
- Jake Watson leads the Bearcats in ground balls with 49 and has won 124 face-offs this season. Wilcox and Caedmon Ferrell are close behind with 44 and 42 ground balls respectively.
- James Linn, Alex Ellis and Quinn Ingalls all have 10 or more caused turnoves this season, with Linn leading the way with 14.
- Mackay has played and started all 14 games this season. Playing in over 479 minutes, he's made 108 saves and holds a 9.77 GAA, a save percentage of .581 and an overall record of 10-3. Nicholas Page has made 12 appearances and has played just under 300 minutes this season. Making 67 saves, Paige has a 10.61 GAA, A .568 save percentage and an 0-1 record.
- Shorter enters this contest 3-11 overall and 0-3 in the PBC.
- Two of the three wins this season for the Hawks have come against Points University (NAIA), while the other was against Davis & Elkins. Shorter is 2-2 this season against non-NCAA teams with losses to Tennessee Wesleyan and Keiser.
- After its most recent win against Point, Shorter has gone 0-3 to begin conference play. The Hawks most recently fell to Montevallo at home 28-8.
- Three Hawks were tied for the lead in goals scored with two.
- Chase Finley played over 50 minutes in the cage for the Hawks as he made 16 saves but allowed 24 of the 28 goals on the day.
- Finley is the NCAA leader in saves per game with 16.42 and has had to make 197 saves this season. Finley has allowed the most goals by a PBC goalie this season with 192.
- As a team, Shorter is being outscored 117-245.
- Alexander Hudgins leads the Hawks in goals with 26 while Jaden Seal is close behind with 25. Gunnar Uutinen is the leader in assists with 22 and also leads the Hawks in points with 36.
- Earl Marshall leads Shorter in ground balls with 61 and face-offs with 70 victories. Hunter Hardeman and Carson Evans both have 10 or more caused turnovers with 14 and 12 respectively.
- Shorter will conclude the regular season with a trip to Young Harris on April 30 while Lander will travel to Alabama-Huntsville on April. 30 in what should determine who earns the No. 1 seed in the PBC Tournament.
