Men's lacrosse continues its non-conference schedule with a visit from Maryville on Tuesday

GREENWOOD – The Lander men's lacrosse team looks to bounce back after a narrow 15-14 loss at North Greenville as it hosts Maryville on Tuesday, March 8.

STORYLINES

  • Lander lost to North Greenville 15-14 for its first loss of the season.
  • Adam Mather led the way with four goals in the contest for Lander. He finished with two assists and six points.
  • Mather has scored three or more goals in his last four games and produced two or more assists in five of the six games this season.
  • The Bearcats started down 3-2 after the first quarter but scored seven goals in the second to go up 9-7 at the half. North Greenville would outscore Lander 8-5 in the second half with the winning goals score with just 1:25 left in the fourth quarter for the Crusaders.
  • Lander is outscoring opponents 108-52 so far this season.
  • Last Saturday's contest was just the second time Lander has allowed more than 10 goals.
  • Carter Wilcox and Mather lead the Bearcats in goals with 17, while Mather is the leader in assists with 13 and points with 17. Drew Wilson is second in points with 20 after scoring 13 goals and seven assists.

He's allowed 12 goals and made 18 saves in 132 minutes of action. DeSantis has appeared in three games while starting two. He's allowed 24 goals and made 14 saves in 107 minutes of action.
