Bearcats sweep Eckerd to wrap up road trip

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Lander snapped a three-game losing streak to Eckerd as they swept a double header, winning game one 5-0 and game two 2-1 to improve to 3-1 on the season.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 1)
TOP 4 Bridget Tierney led off the inning with a bunt single and promptly stole second.  Shannon Antonini followed with a single to score Tierney and give Lander the lead.  Later in the inning, Logan Coward single to put two runners on.  Haven Pesce then blasted a home run to make it 4-0.  
TOP 6 Barbara Cook was hit by a pitch to lead off the sixth and Kyrah Phelix came in to pinch run for her.  Coward laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Phelix into scoring position.  Pesce then singles to center field, scoring Phelix and giving the Bearcats another insurance run.  
KEY INNINGS (GAME 2)
BOT 1 Brenna Lokeinsky led off with a single and later scored on a double by Skylar Redish to give Eckerd the early lead.    
TOP 2 With two outs, Kyrah Phelix drew a walk and scored on a double by Lauren Collie to tie the game at one.  
TOP 5 Sarjarie Jones led of the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Bridgett Tierney.  A double by Barbara Cook scored Jones and gave the Bearcats the 2-1 lead.
