Bearcats extend their streak to 11 with wins over USC Beaufort & Chowan

GREENWOOD – The Bearcats held on to defeat USC Beaufort 2-1 in their first game of the Bearcat Round Robin, and then took down Chowan 7-2 in game two on Saturday.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 1)
TOP 1	Beaufort would take the lead on a solo home run.
BOT 1	With one out, Bridgett Tierney singled down the left field line and advanced to third on a single by Shannon Antonini. Logan Coward then laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring Tierney and tying the game at one.
BOT 5	Neither team could scratch a run across for the next three and a half innings, but Ka'Naya Jones led the bottom of the fifth off by drawing a walk. She then stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch to give Lander the lead that they would not relinquish.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 2)
BOT 1	Sage Jones led off with a single to left field and then stole second. Tierney then reached on an infield single. After a single by Antonini loaded the bases, Olivia Veidt singled up the middle to score two runs. Later in the inning, Barbara Cook singled to center field to score Veidt and make it a 4-0 game. Cook then got in a run down, allowing Haven Pesce to score the Bearcats fifth run of the inning.
BOT 2	Reagan Sienkiewicz drew a walk to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Sage Jones reached on an infield single, moving Sienkiewicz to third. Sienkiewicz scored on a Chowan throwing error and then Jones scored on a single by Antonini to make it 7-1 Bearcats.
