GREENWOOD –After pulling out two one-run games on Saturday, Lander came out and won their first game of the final day of the Brianna Surrento Kickoff Classic convincingly over Frostburg State 10-3. In a rematch of last night's 9-8 win over West Georgia, the Bearcats held off the Wolves 7-6 for their ninth-straight win.

Sage Jones reached second base on a Frostburg error to lead off the inning. She advanced to third on a sacrifice by Bridgett Tierney and scored on a sacrifice fly by Shannon Antonini to give the Bearcats the lead. |

Jamie Roberts led the inning off with a double to right-center field and advanced to third on a single by Katie Ernst to put runners on the corners with no one out. Lander pitcher then retired the next three batters to end the Frostburg scoring opportunity. |

Jones would draw a one-out walk and stole second. Tierney then reached on an infield single, moving Jones to third. Antonini lined a double into the right-center field gap scoring both runners and making it a 3-0 game. The Bearcats would add another run to increase their lead to four. |

Frostburg State took advantage of a Lander error to score three runs to make it a one-run game. |

Barbara Cook led off with a bloop single to right field and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Regan Lunsford. Kalei Cline then lined a triple to left, scoring Cook and making it a 5-3 game. Jones drew a walk, and Tierney followed with a two-run triple. Tierney later scored on a passed ball to make it an 8-3 game. |

Logan Coward led off the inning with a single to center field. She advanced to third on a two-out single by Cline. The Bearcats pulled off a double steal to get their ninth run of the game. |

Trailing 1-0, Bridgett Tierney hit a one-out single, and Shannon Antonini continued her hot hitting as she blasted a home run to left-center field to give the Bearcats the 2-1 lead. |

After the Wolves regained the lead 3-2 in the top half of the inning, Lander would answer with two more runs to lead by one run again. Barbara Cook led off with a single to left and would advance to third when Abbie Behe reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second on a West Georgia error. Kalei Cline would lift a sacrifice fly to left field, allowing Cook to score. Later in the inning Sage Jones singled up the middle, driving in Behe and making the score 4-3. |

Ka'Naya Jones drew a walk to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a groundout. Antonini singled through the left side of the infield and took second on the throw home as Jones scored the fifth run. Later in the inning Olivia Veidt came off the bench and delivered an RBI single, scoring Antonini and giving Lander a 6-3 lead. Cook followed with a single to right field that scored Haven Pesce and made it a four-run game. |
