MARTINEZ, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference announced the preseason coaches' poll Wednesday afternoon with the Lander men's basketball team picked to finish tied for third.
Augusta was picked to finish first with 81 points and nine first-place votes. Columbus State was picked to finish second with 64 points while Lander and USC Aiken were selected to finish tied for third with 57 points each.
The Bearcats finished the regular season in sixth place and upset the No. 3 seeded Georgia College and State Bobcats on the road before falling in a close contest to nationally ranked Flagler in Augusta, Ga., last season in the PBC semifinals.
