GREENWOOD - Lander swept Georgia College 3-0 Friday night, dominating the Bobcats on Senior Night.
With the score tied 3-3 in the first set, the Bearcats rolled off five-straight points to take an 8-3 lead. Later in the set Lander scored six-unanswered points to take a 10-point lead, 15-5, and went on to take the set 25-16.
The Bearcats came out on first in the second set, scoring ten out of the first twelve points, and never looked back, winning 25-10.
Georgia College responded in the third set by taking an early 8-3 lead. A kill by Maya Walker stopped the Bobcat momentum and made it 8-4. Lander got three more kills from Walker and three service aces from Maddie Moss to take their first lead of the set, 10-8. The two teams continued to battle back and forth. With Georgia Georgia College leading 15-14, Lander would outscore the Bobcats 11-3 to clinch the victory.
Madilyn Reed again led the Bearcats with another double-double, dishing out 33 assists to go with 16 digs. Katie Miller led all players with 16 kills, while Maddie Moss had a game-high six service aces. Patricia Pantoja and Christina Aguayo had 13 and 10 digs, respectively.
