CLEMSON, S.C. – The Lander women's rugby team took down Clemson in a pair of matches Friday night, winning 36-0 and 22-0 on the road.
Jessica Burt got the Bearcats on the board with the first try of the evening while Julia Anhalt added two more points with a successful conversion. Bailey Burt and Paige Wisebaker helped bring the Bearcats to a 17-0 advantage.
Jessica Burt would add another try to the scoreboard for Lander, while Anhalt converted another successful conversion to make it 24-0. A pair of tries from Jessica Burt and Anhalt along with another conversion brought Lander to the final score of 36-0 for the first match.
Lander would shut out Clemson again in the second match. The Bearcats began the scoring on a try from Erin Wholey while Jessica Burt scored to put Lander up 10-0. Wisebaker and Bailey Burt rattled off a pair of tries while and a conversion from Bailey Burt gave Lander its 22-0 final score.
