Bearcats Stay Unstoppable with 60-7 Rout Over Florida State

GREENWOOD - The Lander University women's rugby team continued its dominant run this season with an emphatic 60-7 win over Florida State on Saturday, Oct. 11, at New Res Field. From the opening whistle, the Bearcats were firing on all cylinders, showcasing a fierce blend of speed, structure and physicality that overwhelmed the visiting Seminoles.

Head coach Makayla Lowe-Richesin shared her pride in how far the team has come.

"I'm so proud of this group," Lowe-Richesin said. "Last season was about laying the foundation — building a program with strong culture, high standards and a deep sense of belonging. Now, to see that work come alive in the way they play, support each other and lead on and off the pitch — it's incredibly special. We've grown fast, and sitting at No. 1 in the South Division is proof that we're doing something remarkable."

Sydney Molaski led the scoring effort with four tries, while teammates Lindsey Psyell, Emma Cook, Rachel Hammelman, Coriena Hersman, Nevaeh Quinn and Lily Venegas each added one.

Psyell nailed four conversions, with Hammelman adding one.
