COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 6-ranked and second-seeded Lander men's tennis team came up short in its quest for a 12th Peach Belt Conference title as the Bearcats fell to No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Columbus State 4-0 in the PBC Tournament championship match on Saturday at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
The Bearcats fell behind in doubles play as the Cougars picked up wins at the No. 3 and No. 1 spots to take the day's first point. Straight-set wins on courts two, one, and five gave Columbus State the championship.
Lander will learn its postseason fate on Tuesday night when the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Selection Show airs at 8:00 p.m.
