Bearcats prepare for the Bobcat Invitational

GREENWOOD – The Lander men's golf team is back to work starting Monday as it competes on the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College.

STORYLINES

  • The Bearcats have played in four tournaments this spring, finishing in fifth twice along with a first and 12th place finish. Lander won the Hurricane Invitational back on March 23.
  • Lander most recently finished 12th at the Southeastern Collegiate. Junior Maxime Legros tied for 12th overall.
  • The tournament will feature six other Peach Belt Conference (PBC) programs in USCA, No. 8 Georgia Southwestern State University, No. 16 Young Harris College, No. 19 North Georgia, No. 20 Clayton State University and Lander University.
  • Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee is a par 70, 6,730-yard golf course designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Participants will take on the challenging links-style golf course with 36 holes this Monday, March 22, and a final round on March 23.
  • The Bearcats are set to compete in their final regular-season tournament as they travel to Columbus, Ga., on March 29 to take part in the Cougar Invitational.
