INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Darius Parker of the Lander wrestling team advanced to the second day of the Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis after going 3-1 on the first day.
The Bearcats saw eight wrestlers compete on the first day, going 7-15 overall.
Elijah Lusk went 1-2. He began the day with an 8-4 win by decision over David Medina of King before losing his next two matches.
Randy Myers went 0-2 while
Bryson Ethington went 1-2. Ethington started his day with a 5-1 loss before rebounding with an 8-6 win over Tyler Swiderski of Lake Erie before losing via a pin in his third match of the day.
Gage Bernall went 0-2 while
Jack Bond went 1-2 on the day. Bond began with a 16-3 major decision over Alfred Macneill of American International College before falling in his next two matches.
Carter Shipp went 1-2 with a narrow 2-1 victory before falling in the next two matches while
Cameron Coffman lost his two matches.
Parker won his first match with an 18-3 tech fall over Levi Kluttz of Coker to begin his fay before losing his second match 16-4. Parker would rebound with an 18-3 tech fall over Justin Osler of American International College and a 9-7 win by decision over Dakoda Rodger of Pitt.-Johnstown.
Parker will start his day with Hunter Tobiasson of Adams State.
