GREENWOOD, S.C. - Lander continues their road trip as they travel to Belmont, N.C. this weekend for the Belmont Abbey Classic. On Friday, the Bearcats will take on Johnson C. Smith at 7:30 PM, and on Saturday, they will take on the host Belmont Abbey at 6:30 PM.

STORYLINES
- Lander continues their month-long road trip after going 1-1 last weekend in Texas.
- Lander will not play a home game until December 5th. Excluding the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season, it will be the first time since 2016-17 the Bearcats won't play at home in November when their home opener was December 1st against Erskine College.
- Last weekend, Lander fell to the defending National Champion, Lubbock Christian 76-72, before defeating St. Mary's 65-50.
- Makaila Cangé currently leads the Peach Belt in double-doubles (4) and offensive rebounds per game (6.0). She ranked third and sixth nationally in those categories as well.
- Miriam Recarte leads the conference, is 10th in Division II in blocked shots (11), leads the PBC, and is 11th nationally in blocked shots per game (2.75).
- Zamiya Passmore leads the Peach Belt in scoring with 21.0 points per game.
- As a team, the Bearcats lead the conference in blocked shots per game (4.2), free throws made (66), and rebound margin (8.0). They are second in blocked shots (17), free throw percentage (73.3), and offensive rebounds per game (16.2).
- Lander is looking to even their series with Johnson C. Smith. The Golden Bulls won the first two meetings, but the Bearcats won 80-67 the last time the two teams played.
- Last season the Bearcats defeated Belmont Abbey 75-67 in the first meeting of the two teams.
