GREENWOOD, S.C. - Augusta University defeated Lander 3-1 Friday night in Peach Belt Conference volleyball play.

After an attack error by Augusta, Christina Aguayo picked up a kill and tied the game at eight. The Jaguars took advantage of back-to-back errors by the Bearcats to take a 10-8 lead. Leading 12-11, Augusta scored three straight points to take a four-point lead. Lander battled back, and a kill from Aguayo would cut the deficit to 19-17. The Jaguars responded with five straight points to make it set point. The Bearcats continued to fight. A kill by Aguayo, an attack error by Augusta, and an ace from Patricia Pantoja made it a 24-20 set, but Augusta would hold on to take the set 25-20.

The Jaguars jumped out to a 5-3 lead early in the second set. A kill by Maya Walker cut the deficit to one point. Walker then picked up another kill to tie the game at five. After back-to-back aces by Maddie Moss, Aguayo would pick up another kill to cap a 5-0 run by the Bearcats and give them the lead.
