ALBANY, GA. - The Lander men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Hurricane Invitational held at the Double Gate Country Club.

The sixth-place finish is the fifth time this season that the Bearcats have finished a tournament in the top 10.

Maxime Legros registered his second straight top-20 finish of the spring, finishing in a tie for 18th place out of 90 competitors.

Legros shot a one-under-par 71 in the second round and a one-over-par 73 in the third and final round to finish with an even-par 216.

Conor Cull was next for the Bearcats as he finished tied for 35th place. Cull shot a six-over-par 78 in the second round and a two-over-par 74 in the final round. He finished with a tournament score of three-over-par.

Jon Parker and Chris Fortenberry also finished in a tie for 35th place. Parker shot a pair of 75's, and Fortenberry shot a 68 and a 76 in the final two rounds of the tournament to finish with a score of three-over-par, 219.

Roberto Garagorri rounded out the Bearcat lineup in a tie for 44th place at seven-over par.

The Bearcats ended the event with a three-over 867. Georgia Southwestern won the 16-team field at a 31-under 833, ten strokes ahead of Clayton State, and 12 strokes in front of Delta State.

Lander returns to links on Sunday, March 8, when it begins play at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest in Valdosta, Ga.
