CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Lander women's rugby team suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday as the Bearcat fell to College of Charleston 22-17.

Paige Wisebaker, Danielle Satherlie, and Julianne Carter all scored for Lander. The Bearcats also got strong performances from Reese Williams, Anna Gray, and Allyson Aries. 

Lander fell behind early, but rallied to pull within five points before the match was called with 15 minutes remaining due to heat. 

The Bearcats host Elon in their first home match of the season next Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at New Res Field.
