AIKEN, S.C. – The Lander volleyball team used a match-high 17 kills from Kyra Ross to race past Florida Southern 3-0 in the final match of the USC Aiken Invitational on Saturday. The Bearcats defeated the Mocs 25-20, 25-21, 25-14. 

The victory gave the Bearcats (6-1) a 2-1 record over the weekend, while Florida Southern (2-5) finished 1-2 in the event. 

Hannah McManus posted 19 digs on the day for the Bearcats and Madilyn Reed assisted on 32 points for Lander. The Bearcats limited the Mocs to a .083 hitting percentage in the match as FSC commited 21 errors. Boo Luther tallied a pair of Lander's five service aces.

Lander will play its first home match of the season on Tuesday when the Bearcats host rival Erskine in Finis Horne Arena at 7:00 p.m.
