GREENWOOD – The No. 7-ranked Lander men's tennis team notched its fourth consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon, cruising past Francis Marion, 6-1, at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center. 

Lander (15-3, 6-1 PBC) tore through doubles play as the senior duo of Ozan Cildir and Omar El-Moslemany recorded a 6-2 win at No. 2, followed by a 6-3 win from Axel Cronje and Adam Elliget at the No. 1 spot to clinch the point. Eirik Groner and Philippe Courteau closed doubles action with a 6-2 victory at No. 3. 

Three points away from a win, Thomas De Negri opened singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4. Groner dominated at No. 1, winning 6-3, 6-1, and Cildir clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at the No. 3 spot. Aly Zaghloul posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5 and Cronje nabbed Lander's final point of the day with a 6-3, 7-6 win on court two. Francis Marion earned its lone win of the day at the No. 6 spot to avoid a shutout. 

The win marked head coach Brett Simpson's 100th Peach Belt Conference victory at Lander. Since taking over the Bearcats in 2006, Simpson's teams are 100-22 in PBC play. 

The Bearcats begin a two-match road stretch to end the regular season next Saturday at Georgia Southwestern.
