Box Score CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lander women's basketball team fell to No. 5 Lee by a final score of 75-61 on Wednesday night.
The Bearcats (4-3) trailed 10-2 early but used a 13-5 run to tie the game at 15-15 with 35 seconds left in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Lander struggled from three-point range, missing all five of its attempts from deep as Lee (10-0) took a 37-31 lead into the locker room.
After an even third period, the Flames forced six Lander turnovers in the final quarter and shot 54 percent from the floor over the last 10 minutes to extend the lead and claim a 14-point victory.
Tabitha Dailey led the Bearcats with 16 points, while Jessica Harris netted 14 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Zamiya Passmore finished with 13 points and three steals and Sarah Crews posted 10 points in the loss.
Lander travels to Clayton State for a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
