FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 8-ranked Lander men's tennis team picked up a win in its first conference road trip of the season on Friday, besting Francis Marion, 7-2.
The Bearcats (7-2, 1-1 PBC) took two doubles victories and five singles points to earn the win over the Patriots (4-6, 0-3 PBC).
Lander nearly swept the doubles portion of the match, picking up wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots before dropping the No. 3 point.
The Bearcats handled the Patriots in singles play, earning five points in straight sets, as Francis Marion managed to claim only the No. 1 spot.
Lander returns to action on Monday as the Bearcats face No. 2 Barry in Valdosta, Ga.
