VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 19-ranked Lander men's golf team finished eighth in the 18-team field at the Southeast Inviational on Wednesday at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
The Bearcats carded a 301 on the event's final day and finished with a 54-hole total of 22-over 886 at the par-72, 7,363-yard layout. Newberry won the event with an 868 total, while West Florida finished one stroke back.
Conor Richards led the Bearcat starting five, closing with a 70 to finish alone in fifth place at 2-under 214. The sophomore now has six consecutive top-five finishes.
Jon Parker finished a stroke back of Richards to tie for sixth, making the Bearcats one of only three teams in the field with two top-10 finishers.
James Bartlett and Michael Brodie tied for 68th, while Garrett Atkinson finished 84th.
Lander will be back in action on March 19 when it begins play at the Bobcat Invitational.
