FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – The No. 17-ranked Lander men's golf team shot a 299 in the final round of the Spring Kickoff Invitational to finish third in the 17-team tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the Fleming Island Golf Club. 

The Bearcats finished five shots behind Lincoln Memorial and Young Harris, with the Railsplitters defeating the Mountain Lions in a scorecard playoff. Carson-Newman and Mount Olive rounded out the top-five. 

James Bartlett and Conor Richards each finished in a tie for fourth individually, shooting a 213 for the tournament. Michael Brodie shot a 218 to finish tied for 26th, Jon Parker finished tied for 38th with a 221 and Chris Kendall tied for 68th with a 229. 

Lander returns to Florida in two weeks for the St. Leo Invitational in Lake Jovita, Fla.
