YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Four different Lander players scored in double figures and all five starters recorded at least one steal to lead the Bearcats in a 65-51 Peach Belt Conference road win over Young Harris.

The Bearcats, who clinched the Eastern division title on Saturday afternoon, improve to 21-6 and 14-4 in the PBC, while Young Harris drops to 9-16, (5-13).

Ty'hesha Reynolds connected on 7-of-13 floor shots, including 4-of-8 attempts from beyond the arc, en route to a game-high 18 points. Jessica Harris added 12 points and three steals, while Mylea McKenith and Breshay Johnson each netted 10 points.

Lander's defense forced 19 turnovers, which turned into 21 Bearcat points.

Meredith Tarver led the Mountain Lions with 17 points, while Jenny Vernet had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Lander connected on 24-of-64 field goals (37.5 percent), 7-of-26 threes (26.9 percent) and 10-of-15 free throws (66.7 percent).

Young Harris made made 20-of-55 floor shots (36.4 percent), 3-of-13 threes (23.1 percent), and 8-of-13 foul shots (61.5 percent).

The Bearcats, who led 31-20 at halftime, outrebounded Young Harris, 42-38.

Lander opened the second half on a 17-2 run, led by a pair of three-pointers from Victoria Baldwin. A three-point play from Johnson extended the Bearcat lead to 51-25, Lander's largest advantage of the night, with 4:32 left in the third quarter. 

Young Harris never pulled within 10 points during the second half, despite outscoring the Bearcats 16-11 in the final period.

Lander returns home Wednesday night for the regular-season finale against Georgia College at 5:30 p.m.
