AUGUSTA, Ga. – Four Lander women's basketball players scored in double figures Saturday afternoon to lead the Bearcats to a 87-74 Peach Belt Conference victory over Augusta.

With the win, Lander secured its third consecutive PBC East Division title. The Bearcats are the first program in PBC history to win the East Division three years in a row.

Lander improves to 20-6 overall and 13-4 in the PBC, while Augusta slips to 13-12, (8-10).

Juniors Mylea McKenith and Breshay Johnson each 23 points, while Jessica Harris recorded a double-double with 16 and 10 rebounds. Ty'hesha Reynolds finished with 14 points. Johnson was a perfect 10-for-10 from the floor. 

Breonna O'Conner and Abrea Harris led Augusta with 22 points each.

Tied 21-21 early in the second quarter, the Bearcats embarked on a 10-1 run, aided by a pair of threes from Reynolds to take a 31-22 lead with 6:11 to go in the first half. Lander took a 38-30 lead into halftime and led 59-49 entering the fourth quarter. 

Harris scored 12 of her 16 points in the second half and drained all six of her free throw attempts. The Bearcats made their final nine attempts from the charity stripe as Augusta never pulled closer than eight points in the fourth quarter. 

For the game, the Bearcats connected on 31-of-65 field goals for 47.7 percent, including 7-of-20 threes for 35 percent. Lander also sank 18-of-22 free throws for 81.8 percent.

Augusta made 29-of-69 floor shots for 42 percent, including 6-of-13 threes for 46.2 percent. The Jaguars also made 10-of-15 foul shots for 66.7 percent.

Lander, which outrebounded Augusta, 43-33, will travel to Young Harris on Monday for their final road PBC contest of the regular season.
