SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Lander volleyball team slipped to 10-3 on the season Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats fell to Armstrong State, 21-25, 25-12, 26-24, 25-18, at the Pirate Athletic Center.

The loss drops Lander to 2-3 in the Peach Belt Conference, while Armstrong State moves to 12-1, (2-0).

Sophia Perkins posted a double-double of 18 assists and 14 digs, while Khiani Kelly had 12 kills. Hannah McManus tallied 21 digs, while Amanda Medlock added 13 digs. Katie Haake contributed 11 assists for the Bearcats. 

Valdosta State was led by Raegan Grooms (16 kills, 14 digs), Carly Eiken (47 assists) and Iva Scepanoivc (19 digs). 

Lander returns to action on Thursday night against in-state rival USC Aiken in Horne Arena.
