Box Score 2 AIKEN, S.C. – The Lander volleyball team continued its unbeaten start to the 2016 season by picking up two more wins on Saturday at the USC Aiken Invitational to move its record to 8-0 this year. Lander rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Eckerd, 3-2, before sweeping Mount Olive, 3-0.
Lander defeated Eckerd 24-26, 20-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-5 and swept Mount Olive 25-17, 25-18, 25-14.
Against Eckerd, Amanda Medlock led the Bearcats with career highs of 17 kills and 14 digs. Khiani Kelly recorded 15 kills, while Halle Dotson added 14. Kendall Korte registered a team-high 25 digs and Sophia Perkins added a season-high 25 assists. Eckerd was led by Katie Arnette's 14 kills.
Against Mount Olive, Medlock led the team with 10 kills. Hannah McManus added 15 digs, while Perkins chipped in with 11 digs. Mount Olive's Britni Johnson recorded 12 digs and four kills.
Lander hosts Francis Marion on Friday at 7:00 PM for the first home match of the season.
