HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Lander men's golf team finished 11th overall of 20 teams in the three-day, three-round NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional which concluded Wednesday at the par-72, 6,928-yard Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.
Lynn University won the team championship with a 1-under-par 863 and was followed by: 2. St. Leo 866, 3. Florida Southern 868, 4. West Florida 874, 5. Barry 882, 6. Columbus State and Nova Southeastern 888, 8. Limestone and Georgia Southwestern 893, 10. USC Aiken 895, 11. Lander 897, 12. Carson-Newman 901, 13. West Georgia 903, 14. North Alabama 915, 15. Lee 918, 16. Young Harris 919, 17. North Greenville 922, 18. Lincoln Memorial 929, 19. Flagler 938, and 20. Miles 1005.
The top five teams and the two top individual finishers not with a team from the regional will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship, May 17-21, at Green Valley Ranch in Denver, Colorado.
Individually for Lander, Michal Pospisil (78-73-72) tied for 26th with 223, James Bartlett (79-73-74) tied for 36th with 226, Jordan Ainley (71-85-74) and Michael Brodie (71-83-76) tied for 59th with 230, and Garrett Atkinson (74-78-80) tied for 70th at 232.
