FLORENCE, S.C. - The nationally ranked No. 5 and second-seeded Lander men's tennis team finished fourth in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Sunday after bowing to No. 13-ranked and fourth-seeded Georgia College, 5-4, Sunday at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.
Lander moves to 17-5 overall, while Georgia College improves to 15-8.
In singles, No. 1 Yannick Hass (GC) def. Chris Devoize (L) 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-1; No. 2 Jannik Kumbier (GC) def. Marc Hofer (L) 6-1, 3-6, 6-4; No. 3 Loic Minery (L) def. Taylor Powell (GC) 6-3, 2-6, 6-0; No. 4 David Korsten (L) def. Christian Graff (GC) 6-3, 6-3; No. 5 Pedro Ecenarro (GC) def. Ozan Cildir (L) 6-3, 6-1; and No. 6 Alexandre Springer (L) def. Anton Waern (GC) 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, No. 1 Marc Hofer/Loic Minery (L) def. Yannick Hass/Christian Graff (GC) 9-8 (7-5); No. 2 Taylor Powell/Jannik Kumbier (GC) def. Chris Devoize/David Korsten (L) 8-6; and No. 3 Pedro Ecenarro/Kyle Kinsler (GC) def. Ozan Cildir/Charles Baron (L) 8-2.
