ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Lander's Michal Pospisil earned medalist honors Sunday and led the Lander golf team to a fifth place finish at the three-day, three-round Peach Belt Conference championship tournament hosted by Flagler College at the par-72, 6,939-yard Slammer and Squire championship course.
Pospisil, who has twice earned All-PBC honors, shot rounds of 72-72-70 for a 2-under 214, which was one stroke ahead of Columbus State's Tae Hyung Kim and Georgia Southwestern's Ethan Chamineak. Pospisil is the first Lander player to ever win PBC medalist honors.
Columbus State (291-286-296) won the team title with a 9-over-par 864 and was followed by: 2. Flagler 875, 3. USC Aiken 892, 4. Georgia Southwestern 898, 5. Lander 899, 6. Armstrong State 903, 7. Young Harris 911, 8. Clayton State 917, 9. Georgia College 926, 10. Montevallo 933, and 11. North Georgia 940.
Individually for Lander following Pospisil, Michael Brodie (71-80-74) tied for 14th with 225, James Bartlett (76-76-78) and Jordan Ainley (76-75-79) tied for 23rd with 230, and Chris Kendall (81-84-81) finished 53rd with 246.
