GREENWOOD - The Lander men's golf team finished eighth of 17 teams Tuesday in their own 7th Annual Bearcat Classic. The two-day, three-round tournament was held at the par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club. (Final Results)
Wingate's Tyler Stone (68-72-72) won the tournament with a 4-under-par 212, while Lincoln Memorial's Connor Froning (71-72-71) and Newberry's Carlos Leandro (71-73-70) tied for second with 214.
Young Harris won the team title with 7-over-par 871 and was followed by: 2. Lincoln Memorial 873, 3. Newberry 874, 4. Flagler 882, 5. King 886, 6. Georgia College 888, 7. Wingate 889, 8. Lander 891, 9. Coker 894, 10. Columbus State 897, 11. Barton 902, 12. Clayton State 903, 13. Mount Olive 905, 14. North Georgia 910, 15. Eckerd 912, 16. Erskine 917, and 17. Union 919.
Individually for Lander, Chris Kendall (72-72-78) led the way for the Bearcats and tied for 21st; James Bartlett (71-77-76) tied for 30th; Michal Pospisil (76-75-75) and Jordan Ainley (72-80-74) both tied for 44th; and Michael Brodie (76-74-77) tied for 49th.
