GAFFNEY - The No. 5-ranked Lander men's tennis team posted its fifth shutout of the season Wednesday when the Bearcats cruised past Limestone, 9-0, in a non-conference match at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center.
Lander improves to 9-2 overall, while Limestone slides to 4-5.
In singles, No. 1 Chris Devoize (LU) def. Stefano Soares (LC) 6-3, 7-5; No. 2 Loic Minery (LU) def. Gustavo D'Ascenzi (LC) 6-2, 6-2; No. 3 David Korsten (LU) def. Guillermo Ortega (LC) 6-3, 6-4; No. 4 Ozan Cildir (LU) def. Benji Lascari Diaz (LC) 6-4, 6-4; No. 5 Alexandre Springer (LU) def. Giacomo Campus (LC) 6-3, 6-3; and No. 6 Paul Arslanian (LU) def. Enrique Moreno (LC) 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles, No. 1 Loic Minery/Ozan Cildir (LU) def. Stefano Soares/Benji Lascari Diaz (LC) 8-6; No. 2 Chris Devoize/David Korsten (LU) def. Gustavo D'Ascenzi/Guillermo Ortega (LC) 8-3; and No. 3 Charles Baron/Alexandre Springer (LU) def. Giacomo Campus/Alex Poda (LC) 8-1.
Lander will next host Erskine College at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 17, at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
