Box Score FLORENCE, S.C. - Bre Crum scored a game-high 23 points Wednesday night to lead the Lander women's basketball team to a 75-65 Peach Belt Conference victory over Francis Marion at the Smith University Center.
The Lady Bearcats, who completed the sweep against FMU this season, improve to 16-6 overall and 10-3 in the PBC, while the Lady Pirates drop to 17-5, 8-5.
Crum connected on 7-of-14 field goals, including 2-of-5 threes, and 7-of-10 free throws to go along with seven assists and five rebounds. Sannayyiah Johnson added 14 points, Breshay Johnson 12 points and nine rebounds, Ashleigh Zandi 11 points, and Mylea McKenith 10 points.
Lander junior Ty'Hesha Reynolds was held to three points, and now is just three shy of reaching the 1,000-point milestone.
Camille Dash led FMU with 15 points, while Shaunice Fulmore had 13 points and seven rebounds, Alaysia Watts nine points and 10 rebounds, and Briana Burgins seven points and 15 rebounds.
Lander connected on 28-of-62 floor shots (45.2 percent), including 8-of-19 three pointers (42.1 percent), and 11-of-19 foul shots (57.9 percent).
The Lady Patriots were 24-of-61 from the floor (39.3 percent), including 1-of-10 threes (10 percent), and 16-of-27 free throws (59.3 percent).
FMU outrebounds Lander, 46-28, while the Lady Bearcats forced 20 turnovers.
After Lander led 38-35 at halftime, both teams scored 17 points in the third quarter, before the Lady Bearcats went on a 20-13 run in the final period.
Lander will travel to USC Aiken on Saturday, Feb. 6, for a 5:30 p.m. PBC contest at The Convocation Center.
