Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. - Hugo Delhommelle scored from the middle of the box in the 100th minute Wednesday afternoon to lead the unbeaten Lander men's soccer team to a 2-1 non-conference victory in double overtime over King College at Park Field.
Lander, which is off to its second-best start ever, improves to 6-0 overall, while King slips to 2-3-2. The Bearcats will next host PBC rival USC Aiken at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Van Taylor Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Bearcats went up 1-0 when Steven Gonzalez took a Delhommelle pass and drove it into the lower left corner of the net.
The Tornados forced the overtime with six minutes remaining after Faber Bickerstaffe scored off an assist from Kendale Liburd.
Delhommelle's game-winner came at 100:41.
Lander goalkeeper Barrett Nielsen had two saves, while King's Kari Sveinsson totaled 13.
Lander outshot King, 28-6, and led in corner kicks, 14-1.
