GREENWOOD - The seventh-ranked Lander men's tennis team earned a share of the Peach Belt Conference regular-season championship Monday when the Bearcats defeated No. 23 GRU Augusta, 5-1, at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
Lander improves to 12-2 overall and 9-0 in the PBC, while the Jaguars drop to 12-7, 3-7. The Bearcats are tied with No. 4 Armstrong State, which also has a 9-0 PBC record. Lander and Armstrong Atlantic will be the top two seeds heading into this weekend's PBC Tournament at Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C.
The Bearcats will travel to Erskine on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. non-conference match.

Adam Jonsson (L) vs. Arthur Andrade (GRUA) 6-1, 2-1, unfinished; and No. 6 Samuel Poutignat (L) vs. Gabriel Santos (GRUA) 6-1, 4-2, unfinished.
In doubles, No. 1 Adam Jonsson/Loic Minery (L) def. Romain Brunie/Thomas Sevel (GRUA) 8-4; No. 2 Thibaut Leoussoff/Marc Hofer (L) def. Joao Gabriel Freitas/Gustav Anderson (GRUA) 8-4; and No. 3 Benjamin Salle/Samuel Poutignat (L) def. Moritz Gehlhaus/Gabriel Santos (GRUA) 8-4.
