GREENWOOD – The No. 7-ranked Lander men's tennis team recorded its fifth shutout of the season Thursday when the Bearcats defeated North Greenville, 9-0, in a non-conference match at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
Lander improves to 11-2, while North Greenville drops to 7-14.
In singles, No. 1 Marc Hofer (L) def. Sjors van Eck (NG), 7-5, 6-3; No. 2 Benjamin Salle (L) def. Sergio Araujo (NG), 6-3, 6-3; No. 3 Loic Minery (L) def. Jose Gomez (NG), 6-4, 6-1; No. 4 Thibaut Leoussoff (L) def. Santiago Robles (NG) 6-0, 6-0; No. 5 Adam Jonsson (L) def. Alejandro de la Torre (NG), 6-0, 6-0; and No. 6 Antoine Gueguen (L) def. Edmundo Torres (NG), 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.
In doubles, No. 1 Jonsson/Minery (L) def. Araujo/Gomez (NG), 8-2; No. 2 Leoussoff/Hofer (L) def. van Eck/Marcelo Yshikawa (NG), 8-4; and No. 3 Salle/Samuel Poutignat (L) def. Robles/de la Torre (NG), 8-3.
