AMERICUS, Ga. - The eighth-ranked Lander men's tennis team recorded yet another shutout Sunday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated Georgia Southwestern, 9-0, in their Peach Belt Conference opener at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.

Lander improves to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the PBC, while the Hurricanes drop to 2-4, 0-2.

Steven Blythe (GSW) 6-1, 6-1; No. 4 Adam Jonsson (L) def. Abel Acuna-Moreno (GSW) 6-0, 6-2; No. 5 Diego Zegarra (L) def. Joel Landis (GSW) 6-1, 6-0; and No. 6 Samuel Poutignat (L) def. Justin Ralston (GSW) 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, No. 1 Adam Jonsson/Loic Minery (L) def. Jake Koonce/Steven Blythe (GSW) 8-6; No. 2 Marc Hofer/Thibaut Leoussoff (L) def. Oliver Marshall/Abel Acuna-Moreno (GSW) 8-3; and No. 3 Benjamin Salle/Samuel Poutignat (L) def. Joel Landis/Justin Ralston (GSW) 8-1.
