GREENWOOD – After dropping all three doubles matches, the No. 7-ranked Lander men's tennis team won five of six singles Saturday afternoon to claim a 5-4 Peach Belt Conference victory over No. 9 Columbus State at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the PBC, while the Cougars drop to 7-2, 4-1.

In singles, No. 1 Vincent Verpeaux (L) def. Marco Almorin (C) 6-2, 6-2; No. 2 Oussama Zoghlami (C) def. Ristomatti Lanne (L) 6-4, 4-6, 6-2; No. 3 Adam Jonsson (L) def. Adi Malicbegovic (C) 6-4, 6-2; No. 4 Marc Hofer (L) def. Danilo Sardelli (C) 6-4, 7-5; No. 5 Niklas Terhorst (L) def. Michael Trebuhov (C) 6-7, 7-5, 6-1; and No. 6 Diego Zegarra (L) def. Maciej Kierkus (C) 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles, No. 1 Marco Almorin/Adi Malicbegovic (C) def. Adam Jonsson/Oscar Axelsson (L) 9-7; No. 2 Derrick Taylor/Michael Trebuhov (C) def. Vincent Verpeaux/Niklas Terhorst (L) 9-8; and No. 3 Danilo Sardelli/Oussama Zoghlami (C) def. Samuel Poutignat/Marc Hofer (L) 8-6.
