GREENWOOD – The top-ranked and defending national champion Armstrong Atlantic men's tennis team clinched the Peach Belt Conference regular-season title Monday afternoon when the Pirates defeated No. 7 Lander, 8-1, at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Armstrong improves to 19-1 overall and 10-0 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 13-2, 9-1.

In singles, No. 1 Matus Mydla (AASU) def. #17 Paul-Henri Arrigoni (L) 6-0, 6-1; No. 2 Georgi Rumenov (AASU) def. #26 Vincent Verpeaux (L) 6-3, 6-3; No. 3 Daniel Regan (AASU) def. Samuel Poutignat (L) 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 Sven Lalic (AASU) def. Oscar Axelsson (L) 6-3, 6-2; No. 5 Pedro Scocuglia (AASU) def. Adam Jonsson (L) 6-3, 6-1; and No. 6 Pablo Gor (AASU) def. August Iwdal (L) 6-2, 6-4.

In doubles, No. 1 Georgi Rumenov/Daniel Regan (AASU) def. #13 August Iwdal/Adam Jonsson (L) 8-3; No. 2 Paul-Henri Arrigoni/Vincent Verpeaux (L) def. #6 Sven Lalic/Pedro Scocuglia (AASU) 9-8; and No. 3 Matus Mydla/Jaan Kononov (AASU) def. Samuel Poutignat/Oscar Axelsson (L) 8-5.
