GREENWOOD – Francis Marion's Hattie Harris sank two free throws with 15 seconds left in the game Saturday afternoon to spoil Lander's Homecoming, 67-66, in Horne Arena.

FMU improves to 13-13 overall and 7-12 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 9-17, 6-13. Neither team will play in next week's PBC Tournament, which takes the top four teams in both the East and West Divisions.

Senior Precious Elkins notched her eighth double-double of the season to lead Lander as she scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Lea Saunders added 17 points, while Jamie Shaw had eight rebounds and Aarika Judge nine assists.

Kim Roach led Francis Marion with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Kristen Dickerson had 15 points, Harris 13 points and seven rebounds, and DeAsia Toney four assists and four steals.

Lander connected on 25-of-56 field goals (44.6 percent), including 6-of-13 threes (46.2 percent) and 10-of-14 free throws (71.4 percent).

FMU sank 26-of-72 floor shots (36.1 percent), including 2-of-8 threes (25 percent), and 13-of-16 foul shots (81.3 percent).

After the two teams tied for the third time at 16-16 to open the game, Lander went on a 7-0 run to post a 25-18 advantage with 7:47 left in the half on a Elkins' layup. Lander held on for a 36-32 lead at halftime.

FMU trimmed the lead to 38-36 on Dee Gray's layup at the 18:15 mark, and eventually tied the Lady Bearcats at 42-all on a Roach jumper with 14:38 remaining to play.

After a fifth tie at 45-45, Lander went on a 12-0 scoring spree to lead 57-45 after another Elkins' jumper with 9:25 left to play.

The Lady Patriots slowly chipped at the Lander lead until they forced a 57-57 knot with 6:53 remaining to play. The two teams tied again at 61- 63- and 66-all before Harris' winning free
