COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Lander men's golf team finished fifth of 18 teams Tuesday in the two-day, three-round AFLAC/Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State University at the par-71, 6,515-yard Country Club of Columbus.
Lander's Rob Prior tied for fourth overall with a 1-over-par 211 (71-67-73). Columbus State's Robert Mize won the individual title with a 3-under-par 207, followed by Florida Southern's Tim Crouch at 208.
Lander's Carlos Solis tied for 15th at 217 (74-74-69); Eder Moreno tied for 25th at 220 (73-71-76); Jordan Ainley tied for 55th at 228 (76-73-79); and Greg McCullough tied for 62nd at 230 (77-79-74).
Columbus State also claimed the team title with a low 850 (281-282-287) and was followed by: 2. West Florida 858, 3. Georgia College 863, 4. Lee University 864, 5. Lander 871, 6. Florida Southern 874, 7. Carson-Newman 881, 8. Coker 882, 9. Clayton State 886, 10. North Alabama 887, 11. Delta State 889, 12. Georgia Southwestern 897, 13. UNC Pembroke 897, 14.
