YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - Ladondra Johnson posted a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds Monday afternoon to lead the Young Harris College women's basketball team to a 75-62 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander.

YHC improves to 10-5 overall and 5-5 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 6-9, 3-5.

Aarika Judge led Lander with 19 points, while Lea Saunders had a double-double of her own with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Johnson, who connected on 13-of-19 field goals, was aided by Keta Robinette and Peyton Robertson, who added 13 and 12 points respectively.

Lander connected on 23-of-68 field goals (33.8 percent), including 4-of-23 threes (17.4 percent) and 12-of-18 free throws (66.7 percent).

The Mountain Lions made 29-of-53 floor shots (54.7 percent), including 5-of-10 threes (50 percent), and 12-of-16 foul shots (75 percent).

YHC sprinted out to a 13-0 lead to start the game. Lander's first score came at 14:31 on a Judge jumper.

Lander followed with a 9-5 run to trim the Mountain Lion lead to 18-13 on a pair of Judge free throws at 10:46. EmilyiRuss's backet with 9:15 left pulled Lander within four points at 19-15.

After YHC stretched its advantage up to as many as eight points, Lander rallied in the final minutes behind Judge's three pointer and a free throw to close the gap to 29-25 at halftime.

The Mountain Lions gradually built on its lead and reached double figures for the first time in the second half at 45-35 with 12:15 left to play. Sheree Williams' jumper with 9:26 left to play put YHC up 52-37 and it held a double-digit lead the remainder of the game.
