GREENWOOD - The No. 10 ranked Lander men's tennis team downed No. 11 Flagler Sunday afternoon, 5-1, in a rain-shortened Peach Belt Conference match at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
Lander improves to 13-2 overall and 4-1 in the PBC, while Flagler slides to 5-9, 2-4.
Lander swept the three doubles matches, then won three completed singles before the competition was halted.
In doubles, No. 1 Adam Jonsson/Vincent Verpeaux (L) def. Jose Martinez/Stephan Stolz (F), 8-4; No. 2 Peter Coulis/Gino Ramirez (F) def. Ross Armstrong/Oscar Axelsson (L), 8-4; and No. 3 Paul-Henri Arrigoni/Samuel Poutignat (L) def. Uriel Oquendo/Inigo Landaluce (F), 9-7.
In singles, No. 1 Verpeaux (L) def. Martinez (F), 4-6, 6-4, 6-0; No. 2 Arrigoni (L) def. Coulis (F), 6-3, 6-1; and No. 4 Jonsson (L) def. Landaluce (F), 6-4, 6-3.
