GREENWOOD - The No. 11-ranked Lander men's tennis team opened the new Joe Cabri Courts in fashion Saturday morning when the Bearcats blanked North Greenville University, 9-0, in a non-conference contest.

Lander improves to 2-0 overall.

Guilherme Ferreira (NG), 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 Oscar Axelsson (L) def. Samuel Avery (NG), 6-2, 6-1; No. 5 Diego Zegarra (L) def. Josh Dority (NG), 6-1, 6-0; and No. 6 Maxime Desmars (L) def. Juan Vargas (NG), 6-0, 6-2.

In doubles, No. 1 Axelsson/Jonsson (L) def. Vieira/Avery (NG), 8-4; No. 2 Arrigoni/Verpeaux (L) def. Ciarrocchi/Ferreira (NG), 8-0, and No. 3 Zegarra/Klemenz (L) def. Vargas/Dority, 8-2.
