GREENWOOD - Chris Hobbs scored the lone goal of the game Wednesday night to lead the No. 24-ranked Lander men's soccer team to a 1-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over UNC Pembroke at the Jeff May Complex.

Lander improves to 8-1 overall and remains unbeaten in the PBC at 4-0. The shutout was the Bearcats' third of the season. UNCP drops to 7-3, 2-3.

Hobbs took the rebound off Clement Dauchy's missed shot that hit the crossbar and scored at 43:39. For Hobbs, it was his eighth goal of the season.

Lander outshot the Braves, 21-6, and led in corner kicks, 6-3.

Bearcat goalkeeper Barrett Nielsen totaled three saves, while UNCP's Ryan Hanson had two.
