Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lander volleyball team's season came to an end Friday night when the Bearcats lost to top-seeded Armstrong Atlantic, 25-11, 25-18, 25-17, in the quarterfinal round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament hosted by Augusta State University at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Armstrong, the No. 19 team in the country, improves to 34-1 overall and will face the winner of No. 4 USC Aiken/No. 5 Augusta State at 6 p.m. Saturday. The championship match will be played at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Lander finishes the season with a 13-19 overall record.
Senior Magi Nottingham capped her career with a nine-kill, eight-dig performance to lead the Bearcats. Jessica Register added a double-double with 26 assists and 10 digs, while Kiki Hennessey had eight kills and eight digs, Hannah Dederick seven kills, and Madison Kubal 15 digs.
Armstrong Atlantic was led by Jessica Santaniello (11 kills, 7 digs), Amanda Jones (11 kills), Ashley Seal (33 assists, 14 digs), and Stacey Davis (15 digs). Leia Pittman added two solo blocks and three block assists.
