GREENWOOD - The No. 10 ranked Columbus State men's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and claimed wins at the Nos. 3, 4, and 5 singles positions to post a 5-4 Peach Belt Conference victory over No. 12 Lander Saturday afternoon at The Joe Cabri Courts.
CSU improves to 14-3 overall and 8-1 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 14-4, 5-3.
In No. 1 singles, tenth ranked Paul-Henri Arrigoni of Lander defeated No. 17 Frank Suarez of CSU, 6-1, 6-3. In the other singles matches, No. 2 Levan Clark (L) def. Diego Motivar (C), 6-3, 7-6; No. 3 Olivier Simonet (C) def. Henrik Willers (L), 7-6, 6-0; No. 4 Daniel Stomberg (C) def. Christopher Mattsson (L), 6-4, 2-6, 6-1; No. 5 Christophe Noblet (C) def. Juan Manrique (L), 6-2, 6-1; and No. 6 Maxime Desmars (L) def. Nemanja Djuric (C), 6-3, 5-7 (10-8).
In doubles, No. 1 Levan Clark/Pierre Frances (L) def. No. 11-ranked Christophe Noblet/Frank Suarez (C), 8-5; No. 2 Olivier Simonet/Nemanja Djuric (C) def. Maxime Desmars/Paul-Henri Arrigoni (L), 8-4; and No. 3 Daniel Stomberg/Filip Cojbasic (C) def. Henrik Willers/Christopher Mattsson (L), 8-3.
