GREENWOOD - The Lander men's tennis team, ranked No. 14 in the country, won its ninth straight match Tuesday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated Erskine College, 8-1, in a non-conference at The Joe Cabri Courts.
Lander improves to 9-1 overall.
In singles, No. 1 Paul-Henri Arrigoni (L) def. Nemanja Brcan (E), 6-4, 7-6; No. 2 Levan Clark (L) def. Caleb Barnes (E), 6-1, 7-5; No. 3 Angelo Ciarrocchi (E) def. Henrik Willers (L), 6-2, 6-2; No. 4 Christopher Mattsson (L) def. Fabio Ciarrocchi (E), 6-1, 6-0; No. 5 Juan Manrique (L) def. Vincent Chauvette (E), 6-3, 6-1; and No. 6 Pierre Frances (L) def. James Hoatson (E), 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles, No. 1 Clark/Frances (L) def. Barnes/A. Ciarrocchi (E), 8-2; No. 2 Arrigoni/Desmars (L) def. Brcan/Hoatson (E), 8-3, and No. 3 Willers/Mattsson (L) def. Chauvette/Miller (E), 8-0.
